Self-storage, Portable storage

Although moving can apply to any form of movement the expression is used in normal speech to mean relocation from one place to another of a family or business. Moving is the happy result of finding a better job a better lifestyle or for the convenience of a growing family. Relocation is also the result of unfortunate reasons like divorce lay offs and deteriorating neighborhoods. Moving can be a hassle for families and entrepreneurs because of the amount of planning careful packaging and storing of all the household belongings or office inventory requires. Portable storage units.

When moving companies are hired to help with the process of relocation they provide all the services required for the easy transition and delivery of goods. Moving companies charge high fees and finish the packing as fast as possible and you have no control over the packing of your goods. A great site to try. Trucks are hired for the process of relocation and this gives greater control over the packing and transport of personal belongings. Hiring a truck is also expensive and maneuvering a truck is not easy for all. Moving Pods Simplify Storage Issues

If your house is bursting at the seams with too much stuff and you need a place to store the overflow, or if you need to get your belongings out of the way of a major remodeling project, moving pods offer an attractive solution for you. The moving pods concept is simple. The moving pods company brings the unit to you, and you keep the pod until you are finished packing. Be it a day, a week or a month, no matter, you set the deadline, and at no extra cost to you. The company returns for the moving pod when you are finished loading it and transports it to the storage facility for holding until the time comes for you to retrieve your things.

There are several important points to consider when comparing moving pods companies. Be sure that the facility you choose has the best security possible, that no one but you has access to your unit, and that the facility is dry and clean and free of pests. Separate your items with blankets, sheets or moving pads, and stack furniture with paper pads. Keep appliance doors slightly open to avoid mold or mildew formation. Keeping an inventory list in a safe place and purchasing a protection plan from the company are additional ways to keep track of and safeguard your things. As the saying goes, an inch of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

As their name suggests, moving pods also serve as valuable aids for those planning to move house. They come in several sizes and are constructed with materials strong enough to withstand weather damage and break in attempts. You can load the moving pod at home at your convenience and with a minimum of strain as the unit sits level with the ground. No need to navigate a wobbly metal ramp while loading. However, the biggest attraction of the moving pods system may be that it eliminates the necessity for a moving van. The moving pods company takes care of transportation for you.

Your total cost will depend on the type of service you need. Prices will be lower during the off peak times of fall and winter so, if you can, time your project or your move accordingly. Perhaps a local shopping flyer contains a coupon for services. Moving pods are affordable. It is worth the effort to investigate this system as moving pods certainly have the edge over moving vans when it comes to convenience and ease of effort.

Using Pods Storage for Moving and Storage

You have a lot of options when it comes time to move and store your possessions. For moving, you can hire do it all movers or get a truck to move things yourself. If you are storing your things, you can either try to find enough room for storage in your home, or rent a conventional storage unit. And for both, you can use pods storage units. Pods storage is a relatively new concept in the storage and moving industry, and is probably the most convenient way to store or transport your possessions.

Using Pods Storage for Moving

In most situations, using a pods storage unit will probably be your best option when moving a home or business to a new location. However, you do have a lot of choices when it comes to moving, so you want to take time to consider all of your options. And while pods storage works well for most moves, there are some circumstances in particular where it is by far the best option.

For instance, pods storage is a good solution for those that do not have a lot of time each day to dedicate to packing. Because you can pack a pods storage unit as you go (and take up to a month to do it), it is easy to pack on your free time… even if you do not have much of it. It is a perfect solution for busy professionals and families with small children.

Using portable storage is also a good solution for local moves. Because while portable storage units are a great deal and will save you a ton of money for short distance moves, they are not necessarily economical for longer moves. For people who are not moving to a far away state or across a long distance, pods storage will almost certainly be the most effective moving solution.

Renting Pods Storage Units Long Term

Pods storage is also incredibly convenient for storage. And unlike the concerns about distance that you might have when using portable storage to move, using these units for self storage is very simple. The truth is, portable storage is simply the best solution for anyone needing to do some self storage.

But for whom is pods storage truly best? It is best for those without the ability to move their larger possessions on their own. With traditional self storage, you need to have access to a large truck… and you may also have to do it in several long and tiring trips. Not something anybody enjoys doing.

When you use portable storage, on the other hand, you can easily access your things (just as with traditional self storage), but with a lot less back breaking work involved. You simply pack your possessions into the unit which is delivered to your door, and call to have it stored for you. It is the best of both worlds; nobody but you has access to your things, yet you do not have to do all the work yourself.

Self Storage Moving Game

My husband and I recently decided to move to England for a couple years. We were ready for a new adventure and my husband got accepted to a graduate school program there. We put our beloved house of a decade on the market, rather than try to rent it while we were away. Being a landlord from that far away was not appealing. And we are not sure where we want to head after England anyway. Self storage was at the top of our list, as we thought about what we wanted to do with our belongings while we were in London. After interviewing several realtors and finally deciding on the one we liked, we realized self storage was going to become part of our lives for quite a while.

Our realtor wasted no time evaluating things and jotting a list down for us. She began with, “I like to get down to business and tell it like it is. If you are sensitive, let me know. Otherwise, I am ready with a list of things you need to do.” We let her know that we were prepared to get down to business. The woman is brilliant, because she spilled forth the thing you should always remember when you put your house on the market. She told us to remember that we are selling this house and that it now belongs to someone else. “Once you realize that, it makes it much easier to get the house ready.” Long before we packed up the big stuff for London, we were going to need Self storage for lots and lots of things the realtor said should not be hanging about. She told us to take down all personal pictures and make the bookshelves only one third full. She said the house should be like a blank canvas on which prospective buyers can place their ideas. So, we were told to replace our red and orange modern duvet cover with an all white ensemble in the master bedroom. That was only the beginning. By the time she was done with the list, we needed another house to put all the things from our house that someone else might not like.

We rented a unit with a self storage company about ten blocks from the house. I feel like we were constantly unloading things there, in the weeks we got the house ready. A few days before the open house, the guys from the Victorian rental place brought in the stuffy furniture and they took our comfy stuff to the self storage place. Luckily, it did not take too long to sell the house, so we could then focus on what we would put in storage, what we would take to London and what we would sell on Craigslist. We decided to put the things we were going to leave behind in a self storage place close to where my parents live. We had to fit in a weekend trip there, in the comfort of a large moving truck, to move everything into storage. So, we had to move things into a self storage place while we were selling the house, then had to sort through everything to decide what would go with us, go to the new storage unit, or be sold in a yard sale. It was a lot of schlepping.

Moving Storage Can Make Your Life Easier

You have to admit that the prospect of moving is a task that many consider with a bit of fear and loathing. There are myriad different details to consider from packing up the stuff carefully, loading it into the truck, transporting it to its final destination, and finally, unpacking it. It is not a task that comes easy by any means, although moving storage can make it a great deal easier.

Moving storage gives you a moving solution that is safe, easy and convenient. There are many companies that offer such services, and a glance though your local phonebook or an online search will call up several companies that service your area. The process usually involves the moving company sending you a container that you will pack with whatever you want moved, and they will then be responsible for taking your things to their new home. Some moving storage companies will offer a broader range of services, and they may even do the packing and transporting for you, and possibly even allow you to store your unit in their container yard. Depending on the range of services that they offer, you may of course end up having to pay a higher fee.

A relatively new form of moving storage service has been made available recently, and it allows you to hire a container unit and pack it up at your own pace. After that, all you have to do is call the moving storage company, and arrange for transport to its new location or have them store it in their lot. These services offer the benefit of a much cheaper rate, with the convenience of being able to pack your unit at your leisure. Since you will be responsible for doing the packing, the service will cost much less. This is a great way to avoid having to deal with transporting your goods across town and you won’t have to worry about paying an extra fee for late pickups.

As for your safety and security concerns, you don’t have anything to worry about when you go for reputable moving storage services. The facilities are usually protected by stringent security measures, such as close circuit cameras, roving guards, and alarm systems, so you can be sure that your items are as safe as they can possibly be until you are ready to pick them up. Moving storage companies clearly provide an invaluable service that is able to handle all your moving transport and security concerns adequately.
